I don’t have internet at my house, but only recently has this felt like an impediment or an inconvenience, like “oh I wish”. Typing (now) in a note on my phone feels cumbersome or, at least, trickier than a full keyboard — I think, here, about media and language and how you (broadly) describe the world (and, so, experience it) according to the limits of your language, and maybe this is a false analogy, but it feels related. I do wonder about this. I took a single linguistics class when I was 18 and it rocked my world, like, considering language as a frame through which one conceptualizes what’s around them was mind blowing to me. I think about this often, and I think it’s probably reductive and assigns too much power to spoken/written language (when there are so many other, language-less ways to move through and experience all sorts of things) but still, I like the underlying concept; it resonates. The Frame, I mean.
